It is the only medical college affiliated with Gondwana University and is also recognized by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. Fully funded by the Government of Maharashtra, GMC Chandrapur operates under the supervision of the Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai.
